Future Projects: Growth and Sustainability!
God has specifically told the leadership at Sila Home that it is time to expand. They want to be able to house more children and to be completely self-sustaining. In order to become self-sustaining, however, Sila Home needs to raise a significant amount of money to invest in land, buildings and tools, as well as to have funds to initially cover the added costs of living. Sila Home currently operates of seve acres. They are hoping to buy a 10 acre property nearby for farming so that the current property can be entirely devoted to housing and living space. Current projects are listed here:
The Land
Sila Home's first priority is to purchase a 10 acre property that is within walking distance of Sila Home. On this land they would have:
-a fish pond to raise fish for food
-rice fields for food
-corn for food
-vegetable gardens and fruit trees
-chickens for eggs, to eat and to sell
-cows for meat, manure and sale
-pigs for meat and sale
-larger scale mushroom farms for sale
-bamboo to make tools, and handicrafts for sale
The Baby and Young Children's House
Sila Home hopes to construct a house where orphaned/abandoned infants and 1-year olds can live with a high ratio of staff.
They will have enough space for the babies to sleep, eat and play.
The house will also have room to house 2-6 year old kids with a high staff-child ratio.
The Library Room
In the near future, Sila Home would like to build a room for the older students to study and do schoolwork.
It will be equiped with books for kids at each reading level to practice reading and a few computers so the kids can learn valuable computer skills and research their own interests.
Thank you so much for your support, prayer and hard work that you have been a part of this building. We have been wait for so long and God has start for us to see how faithful He is and as He would like us to be trust and faithful to Him in our pray. The building is progressing about 30%. Would like for more details please contact us. Together in Him we can do it.
No Needy Project Housing
In the future, as more children graduate from Sila Home and go on to look for post-secondary education, Sila Home would like to own a house in Chiang Mai to house students who attend a University in Chiang Mai. For more information, click here.
Kitchen Room
A more urgent need is some building supplies to complete an outdoor kitchen room.
The current kitchen space will be used in the future, but not for cooking because the humidity is causing
a black mold problem.
Past few years, our new kitchen has started to build by many teams that came to serve with us. Thank you for all who have been working so hard for our kitchen. We appreciated so much. First we want the kitchen to be full system with cover that will protect the food from bugs and dry place to store. But since we need the kitchen to move out separately from the old building, we decided to do what we can at the moment. As you can see from the picture is not cover. Please continue keep this in mind and pray for us. One more need is the Oven. We believe that our kitchen will be bless to other ministry in some way too.
